My name is Teresa Evans and I live in Cutchogue with my husband Chad and our
11-month-old son, Ethan. I grew up in Oswego, NY (where snow is almost another
food group) and graduated from SUNY Cortland. I moved to Orlando, FL after
college to pursue a career in health care management, where I worked in
sales/management for a biopharmaceutical and healthcare company. I met my
husband in 1995 while he was stationed nearby at Patrick Air Force base. We
married in Oswego in October of 2006 and made our home in Melbourne, FL.
We enjoyed Florida, but I hoped someday to move back to NY to be closer to my
family, to find a wholesome community to raise our own family and to finally
enjoy the change of seasons again! We were fortunate to be offered that
opportunity in November of 2008, when my husband joined the 106th Rescue Wing in
Westhampton Beach, as a Combat Rescue Officer. And finally, I was 2 months
pregnant!
Since our move to the North Fork in 2008, we have been lucky to have made
great friends and found a beautiful location for raising our son. I love to
golf, run, bike, etc. – basically any activity outdoors. I’m currently a stay at
home Mom for Ethan, but look forward to heading back to work. Ethan has been
such a joy in our lives, he’s now standing, giving the dog a run for his money
and blowing kisses. (Chad hopes he’ll be doing yard work soon). Motherhood has
truly been everything I had dreamed of, and so much more.
I also look forward to my first (non-pregnant) summer here, enjoying the
beaches, local restaurants and of course, the wineries. I’ve really enjoyed SMC
and the New Moms group with all our play dates, activities and fun events. Ethan
has already met some great buddies that we’re excited to watch him grow up with.
And I am grateful to have met some truly wonderful Moms over the past year and
anticipate I will only meet more in the future!
